According to the latest notice of SASO (Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization), from August 1st, 2024, USB Type-C interface will be adopted for electronic device interfaces and smart phone chargers that are required to enter the Saudi market. Related products must meet the requirements of updated standards Saso IEC 62680-1-2: 2017 and Saso IEC 62680-1-3: 2017 in order to obtain conformity certificates.
From October 1st, 2024, the previously issued PCOC certificate that failed to meet the new requirements will not be used to apply for SCOC, and the original certificate will be cancelled by SASO.
